Where to go, month by month

Most “best time to visit” lists are somebody's impression. This one is arithmetic: monthly temperature and rainfall normals decide which months are comfortable, and a place appears under those months and no others. Only places where two independent climate sources agreed are listed at all.

How this was calculated

For every place, monthly temperature and precipitation normals are read from Open-Meteo (ERA5, 1991–2020) at the place's own coordinates, and from the climate chart of its Wikivoyage article. The two are averaged month by month, and a month counts as comfortable when its mean temperature sits in a mild band and its rainfall is low relative to the place's own year. Only places where both sources answered are listed: a verdict resting on one source alone is left off this page, because the point of the page is that the answer was corroborated. This reflects weather only — not festivals, crowds or prices.

Sources

Every figure above is computed from these sources at generation time. Where a place had no verifiable data, it was left out rather than estimated.
